Hamlin Street Series

The intention here was to create a stack of paintings.

I love paper. I love how gesso changes paper; adding weight, altering the sound the paper utters when moving through space. Each painting began by choosing two complimentary colors, opposites on the color wheel. Thereby creating a specific tension to be resolved. This specific contrast sparks a dialogue on the page between myself and the work much like two friends meeting for coffee, discussing their lives.
